Wildcard Distribution releases official trailer for Get Up & Go

Wildcard Distribution are delighted to release the trailer for the much anticipated feature film Get Up & Go which hits Irish cinemas on Friday May 1st. The trailer, which features music from the Irish group Villagers along with Light Heat and Grant Hart, is the first official glimpse of the Dublin-set film, which reunites Love/Hate duo Peter Coonan and Killian Scott in a hipster comedy that’s a world away from the gritty gangland haunts of RTÉ’s hit drama.

Written and directed by Brendan Grant (Tonight Is Cancelled, Totally Frank) the film chronicles an action-packed 24 hours in the lives of frustrated Dublin dreamers Alexander (Coonan) and Coilin (Scott). At the wrong end of their twenties and with their long-cherished hopes of artistic greatness disappearing in the rear view mirror, the lifelong friends attempt to  get their lives back on track while dealing with dwindling bank balances, irate girlfriends, and their worst enemies – each other.

Also starring Gemma-Leah Devereux (Stitches, Dartmoor Killing), Sara Lloyd-Gregory (Doctors), Emma Eliza Regan (Love Eternal, Darkness On The Edge of Town), and Sarah McCall (Wide Open Spaces), Get Up & Go is a witty urban comedy that vividly captures the everyday triumphs and disasters of late-twenties life, as it ranges across the pubs, clubs, and cafes of Dublin.

With guest appearances from Republic of Loose’sMik Pyro and David Kitt and a soundtrack featuring music from Adrian Crowley, Lisa O’Neill, and many more Get Up & Go moves to the beat of the modern city, bringing to life the poets, schemers and dreamers of post-boom Ireland.

Dublin itself also has a starring role with locations such as the Fumbally Café, The Globe and The International bars, the Screen cinema, Cows Lane in Temple Bar, the docklands and many more featuring throughout.

Get Up & Go is a Fastnet Films (Kisses, Life’s A Breeze) production in association with Fragrant Films and CelofanAudiovisual with the participation of Bord Scannán na hÉireann/The Irish Film Board and The Film Agency for Wales.

Get Up & Go will be released in Irish cinemas on Friday May 1st.
