AUDIENCE AWARD WINNER – 2019 CORK INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

THE LAST RIGHT

AVAILABLE ON DIGITAL 30th MARCH 2020

From Director Aofie Crehan in her feature film debut, The Last Right is a heart-warming and bittersweet comedy-drama of friendship, family and finding home. Discover the journey of a lifetime when The Last Right arrives on Digital on 30th March for the first time from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UK).

A fateful exchange on a flight from New York to Ireland has complicated consequences for Daniel Murphy (Michiel Huisman). He’s left in charge of a corpse, the body of someone he never knew. In a bid to persuade his autistic brother Louis (Samuel Bottomley) to return to New York with him, Daniel agrees to drive the remains across the length of Ireland, from Cork to Rathlin Island. Hitching a ride in the passenger seat is Mary (Niamh Algar), a flighty young mortician with her own agenda. When the police start asking questions the unlikely trio soon find themselves the focus of a nationwide manhunt. As sparks ignite between Mary and Daniel, a long-buried family secret endangers the fragile truce between the brothers, with Mary caught in the crossfire.

The Last Right sees a star-studded ensemble cast, including Michiel Huisman (World War Z, “Game of Thrones”), Niamh Algar (“The Virtues”), newcomer Samuel Bottomley (“Wolf Hall”), and a supporting cast including Brian Cox (“Succession”, The Bourne Identity), Michael McElhatton (“Game of Thrones”), Colm Meaney (The Snapper, “Star Trek: The Next Generation”) and Jim Norton (“Father Ted”). The film also showcases original music by Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody (Spider-Man 3, Divergent).
