Dublin Film Critics Circle announce annual awards for 2025

The Dublin Film Critics Circle has announced the winners in its poll to determine the best cinematic achievements of 2025. Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, an epic blend of horror, music and social history, was the big winner, topping a remarkable five lists: best film, best actor, best screenplay and best cinematography. Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another ran Sinners close in several of those races, but, released as far back as April, Coogler’s film looks to have only blossomed in critics’ estimations.

Charlie is a kangaroo obsessed 12-year-old girl, who has lost her sense of place in the world after the death of her father and relocating to the remote town of Silver Gum with her mother. Meanwhile in Sydney, Chris Masterman gets fired from his job as a weather presenter and is exiled from his world of fame and TV. He flees the big city for a break but as luck would have it, finds himself stranded in the outback and out of his comfort-zone.

ALONE, the national organisation supporting older people to age at home, is deeply concerned about changes to the Community Pharmacy Agreement coming into effect in January 2026. These changes will limit phased dispensing — which helps people manage their medication safely — to only certain high-risk medicines.
