Holiday World Show Dublin Draws Record Number of Holiday Seekers, Huge Increase in Holiday Bookings
Over 50,000 visitors to the Show recorded at the RDS Dublin this weekend
Dublin, 27 January 2013 Organisers have recorded a 12% increase in the number of visitors attending this year’s Holiday World Show in the RDS, Dublin. The show, which celebrated its 24th year, concluded today and saw over 50,000 people make their way to the RDS for personalised expert travel advice, show-only deals and tips for the bargains of 2013. The increase on numbers from last year indicates the popularity of this award-winning show still holds strong and the continued appetite for budget-conscious holiday options. Exhibitors noted a surge in holiday bookings, as was also evidenced by the Irish Travel Agents Association last week who reported a 25% increase in business at travel agents across the country.
Edmund Hourican, Managing Director, Business Exhibitions Ltd., organiser of Holiday World Show Dublin said “Our 2013 show has been more successful than ever before with huge numbers attending not just to make enquiries, but to actually book their holidays. Exhibitors have seen increases in business as people feel more confident when it comes to booking holidays for the year ahead.”
“This year’s Holiday World Show offered visitors outstanding value and show-only deals on all kinds of breaks, and expert advice from almost 1,000 travel professionals. Belief and confidence in the travel market continues to improve on last year,” he concluded.
Particularly popular exhibitors at this year’s Show were the National Polish Tourist Board, who were offering advice on the best deals and the huge variety of options available; the ever popular España stand where 10 regions of Spain were present; Emirates Airlines, who showcased their luxurious first class suite; the Puglia region of Italy who were a new edition to the Show this year and the numerous Irish stands offering special hotel and travel deals for the home-holiday seeker. Exhibitors at the Show commented on the significant amount of business conducted at the event this year, with thousands of bookings being made for travel and accommodation at the Show.
