Limelight Communications awarded title of ‘Best Public Information Campaign’ at Awards for Excellence in Public Relations 2021

Limelight Communications have been awarded the title of ‘Best Public Information Campaign’ at this year’s PRCA Awards for Excellence in Public Relations for their extensive work with ALONE, the organisation which supports older people, on the rollout of ALONE’s National Support Line.

 

The judges’ citation for the winning entry highlighted that those working on the campaign “knew their target audience and demonstrated strong audience insight to deliver a highly targeted campaign that achieved its aim and secured share of voice in a very busy space through strong public relations and simple innovative elements.”

 

Limelight Communications began working with ALONE to launch the National Support Line in March 2020 as an urgent response to the emerging COVID-19 situation and the increased need for additional supports for all older people facing difficulties relating to COVID-19, whether they had previously used ALONE’s services or not.

 

The campaign was a clear success; since its launch in March 2020 the National Support Line has received over 50,000 calls from older people. In addition to this, ALONE staff and volunteers have made more than 82,520 calls to older people who need support in 2021 alone.
