Beggars Bush D4 is a finalist for title of ‘Best Connected Community’
The Beggars Bush Business Group is thrilled to announce that Beggars Bush, Dublin 4 is a finalist at the national LAMA Community and Council Awards 2017 in the category of ‘Best Connected Community’.
The Local Authority Member Awards (LAMA) highlights the work done by communities and councils all over Ireland, bringing national recognition to projects and developments that may otherwise go unrecognised.
The Best Connected Community awards recognises “the community that is connected to councils, businesses and each other, can access services easily and quickly and communicate activities and events taking place in the area with the click of a mouse.”
The Beggars Bush D4 Business Group is a local organisation made up of over 20 businesses with an aim of promoting Beggars Bush D4 as a great place to work, live and play. The group members include; restaurants, bars, cafes and shops, as well as a car dealership, laundry shop, gym, pharmacy, printers, make-up studio, hairdressers, dentists, PR agency and accountant.
Local member of the business group, Kevin Arundel of The Chop House said, “Over the past few years the Beggars Bush business group has grown into a thriving network of active and engaged stakeholders. We all feel incredibly lucky to be a part of the vibrant community of Beggars Bush which is an area of great vitality and abundant community spirit. To have our community recognised on a national level is incredibly heartening”.
In their submission to the awards the Beggars Bush Business group highlighted the great resources backed by the group to help connect the community, including a number of local projects and events, accounts on Facebook and Twitter, and a dedicated area website www.beggarsbushd4.com.
The category winners for 2017 Community & Council Awards presented by IPB Insurance & LAMA will be announced at a gala Awards ceremony on Saturday, February 4th in the Crown Plaza Hotel Dublin Airport, Northwood.
