Exciting casting call opportunity announced for new feature film – MARY MAN – from the creator of The Young Offenders
The creator of smash hit film and TV show The Young Offenders has announced an exciting opportunity for singers to be part of what will be one of the biggest Irish films of 2026.
Mary Man is the inspirational story, based on real-life events, of a Kerry woman outcast from Irish society who has an incredible singing voice, and who challenges perceptions and brings joy to her local community when she competes in a singing competition. Packed with music, comedy and a powerful message about being true to oneself, the film will be shot in and around Co. Kerry in late 2025.
Producers have issued a casting call for singers in lead, secondary and background roles of a new feature film to be filmed in Co.Kerry, late 2025. All submissions made for consideration must include a singing demo.
Filmmaker Peter Foott said “I’ve wanted to make this film for some time now. I heard so many stories in the Castlecove, Co. Kerry community about this incredible person, and I wanted to bring Mary’s story to life on the big screen. It feels joyful, musical and very cinematic, and we’re really eager to feature the best Irish talent possible in this exciting feature film.”
The production will be casting all ages from 18+, covering a variety of roles.
