Gateway to the City opens onto Dorset Street
Brand new festival showcases the history, culture and delicious food that the Dorset Street area has to offer.
Don’t miss out on the inaugural Gateway to the City event, held on Sunday the 29th of September on Blessington Street, Dublin 1.
Brought to you by Dorset Street Together with the support of Dublin City Council, Gateway to the City promises to be an exciting event from start to finish, with a wide range of activities for patrons of all ages.
There are historical exhibitions and talks running throughout the day, a petting zoo with lots of little furry friends, a beautiful vintage carousel, a wide range of market stalls, face painting and much, much more.
Visitors can enjoy delicious food from local businesses, as well as tasty treats from food stalls at the event.
There also will be a selection of talented buskers performing outside various businesses on Dorset Street throughout the day, as well a main stage on Blessington Street that will feature a mix of traditional and contemporary musicians.
Speaking about Gateway to the City, Lord Mayor of Dublin Paul McAuliffe said: “This is a fantastic family friendly event to celebrate the heritage and history of the area, and showcase all that Dorset Street and Blessington Street have to offer. With free entertainment all day, it’s a perfect way to spend a Sunday in the City with family and friends.”
