Historic Avoca Mine licence awarded to IMC Exploration

Thursday, February 14th 2013 IMC Exploration Group Plc has announced that the company has been awarded two additional prospecting licences from the Exploration and Mining Division of the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural resources. These licences, both in Wicklow, include the historic Avoca mine. These licences are close to where IMC had its recent significant gold discovery yielding 354g/t gold (=11.38oz/t gold). IMC now holds four contiguous exploration licence areas in Co. Wicklow.

Dr Glenn Millar, Managing Director IMC, commented “In keeping with IMC’s strategy to build a world class gold resource, these new additional licences, along with our recent gold find, give IMC the capacity to immediately accelerate our exploration programme in this area. This is a major step forward for us and we’re delighted that we’re continuing to develop the company at such a rapid pace. We anticipate further positive results and reports from our various licences in the coming months.”

Avoca, Co. Wicklow, has been associated with its famed copper mines for many years. Copper mining is reported to have started in the Avoca River Valley around 1720 and continued until 1982. Possible earlier mining dating to the Bronze Age may have also occurred.

The licences in question in Co. Wicklow are PL Area 3849 and PL Area 3850. The Directors of the company accept responsibility for the contents of this announcement.
