Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues – Irish Premiere
9th December 2013: Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and director Adam McKay attended the Irish Premiere of Paramount’s Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues in The Savoy Dublin. Hundreds of people gathered on O’Connell street to catch a glimpse of the now infamous news team as they made their way down the red carpet to greet their fans and the Irish media who had gathered in force.
Aer TV live streamed the event online whilst Daniella Moyles, Stephen Byrne and The Dublin Gospel Choir kept everyone entertained. Numerous Irish celebrities showed up for the occasion including; Irish news reader Aengus McGrianna, Olympic athlete Katie Taylor,Actress Aoibhinn McGinnity (Love/Hate), celebrity chef Donal Skeehan, comedian Jason Byrne, presenter Darren Kennedy, weatherman Deric Hartigan and models Vogue McFadden and Roz Purcell to name but a few.
Inside, the cast joined the Dublin Gospel Choir for a rendition of ‘Afternoon Delight’, followed by Will Ferrell singing a touching version of ‘Happy Birthday to Ireland’.
The second installment of the franchise is sure to spawn a whole host of new catchphrases so don’t miss it when it opens in Irish cinemas on the 18th December – after all it is kind of a big deal.
