Fiery Pompeii opens in Irish cinemas May 30th in 3D
Action, adventure and a natural disaster of cataclysmic proportions collide headlong in Pompeii, director Paul W. S. Anderson’s epic recreation of one of the ancient World’s most compelling tragedies.
Set in 79 A.D. Pompeii tells the heroic story of Milo (Kit Harrington), a slave turned gladiator who finds himself in a race against time to save his true love, Cassia (Emily Browning) who has been unwillingly betrothed to a corrupt roman senator (Kiefer Sutherland).
In order to win his freedom Milo must defeat the mighty, previously unbeaten, gladiator Atticus (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) in the amphitheatre. But as Mount Vesuvius erupts in a torrent of blazing lava, the fight turns into a battle for survival even more perilous than that of the gladiator arena as the once magnificent city of Pompeii crumbles around them.
Pompeii stars Kit Harrington (Game of Thrones, The Seventh Son), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Thor: The Dark Work, Lost) Kiefer Sutherland (24, Melancholia), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix Film Franchise, Memento), Emily Browning (Sucker Punch, A Series of Unfortunate Events), Jessica Lucas (Evil Dead, Cloverfield) and Jared Harris (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Mad Men).
Pompeii opens in Irish cinemas April 30th 2014, Cert 12A.
