Enjoy Eco living at the Climate Fest!

South Dublin City Council are delighted to present this action packed festival, celebrating sustainable living as part of Dublin Climate Action Week 2022!

Dublin, 16 September 2022   Climate Fest, a FREE fun family event hosted by South Dublin County Council, is taking place tomorrow, Saturday 17th of September from 11am to 4pm in Tallaght’s Tymon Park. The festival aims to promote environmentally friendly habits through exciting workshops, talks and activities.

Taking place on the last day of the Dublin Climate Action Week, Climate Fest plans to further educate citizens on sustainable living and climate action. Attendees will learn about the benefits of a more sustainable lifestyle and the impact one can have on the environment.

Biodiversity, recycling and reusing will all be part of the excitement. Take a biodiversity tour with heritage expert Dale Treadwell around Tymon Park Wood, create a pet bed and graffiti from unusual reuse materials with ReCreate or listen to a talk in our Living Lab Community Hub.

Activities will exhibit how fun eco-living can be while providing attendees with lots of information.

Get involved in one of the many activities led by Stop Food Waste and Recycle IT, get hands on with ReCreate workshops and feel the wind on ESB e-bikes. There truly is something for everyone!

Fionnghuala Ryan, Climate Change & Environmental Awareness Officer with South Dublin City Council said, “We strongly encourage everyone to attend this event. We have educational activities for all ages and interests in the climate crisis. It is not only going to be really informative but also a lot of fun. We have organised activities from a bunch of incredible organisations that are very knowledgeable about the impact every individual has on the environment. Small lifestyle changes will be demonstrated at the festival to highlight why people should adopt more eco friendly habits.”

Climate Fest is taking place alongside Tymon Park Food & Craft market where there will be live music, food stalls and circus entertainers during the day.
