Wildcard Distribution have released the official trailer for the Irish supernatural comedy EXTRA ORDINARY ahead of the film’s Irish premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh on Saturday 13th July.
EXTRA ORDINARY is the debut feature from Mike Ahern and Enda Loughman who are both in the running for the Bingham Ray New Talent Award at the festival. The film has had a strong festival run so far, currently boasting 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and being touted as the year’s best comedy.
The film stars comedian/writer/actress Maeve Higgins (Naked Camera, Inside Amy Schumer), Barry Ward (Jimmy’s Hall, MAZE), Will Forte (Nebraska, Run & Jump), and Claudia O’Doherty (Trainwreck, Love, Inside Amy Schumer) and tells the story of Rose, a sweet and lonely small town driving instructor who must use her supernatural ‘talent’ to save the daughter of a local man from a washed up rock-star looking to use her in a satanic pact that will reignite his fame.
Both Maeve and Will are set to attend the premiere and take part in a post-screening Q&A. Forte will also take part in an Acting Masterclass the morning of the premiere.
The film which had its world premiere at the renowned SXSW Film Festival earlier this year has been acquired by Good Deed Entertainment’s Cranked Up Films with a US theatrical release set for later this year.
Produced by Katie Holly (Citadel, Love & Friendship), Mary McCarthy (Mr Foley, Six Shooter), Yvonne Donohoe (Striking Out) and Ailish Bracken (The Queen of Ireland) for Blinder Films, EXTRA ORDINARY is a co-production with Umedia with funding from Screen Ireland, UMedia and Inevitable Pictures.
Wildcard Distribution will be releasing the film in Irish cinemas this September.
