Packie Bonner “Putt-ing” The Focus on SBHI

Annual golf classic to take place on August 23rd

Packie Bonner joined with Niall Quinn and Ray Houghton to launch the Packie Bonner 2013 Golf Classic in aid of Spina Bifida Hydrocephalous Ireland. This annual event will take place on Friday 23rd August at the world famous K Club Golf Course in Straffan, Co Kildare. All proceeds raised will go to SBHI in order to continue their valuable work in assisting those with the conditions spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus.

NO FEE SPINA BIFIDA 2Companies, foundations and individuals are welcome to sponsor teams, tees, raffle prizes as well as any other sponsorship related to the day. The entry fee is €400 per four person team and the event starts at 1pm sharp. This year sees a car worth €30,000 up for grabs for the first hole in one at hole number 17 (par 3).

There are lots of other fantastic prizes on offer including prizes for the best teams, longest drive, nearest pin, “beat the pro” competition, par 3 competition plus numerous other spot and novelty prizes. The €400 entry fee per team includes lunch and dinner at the stunning K Club Golf Resort as well as a generous goody bag.

Every year I take part in this event and it amazes me to see the work carried out on behalf of SBHI for people who live with these conditions. Without a doubt it is the best of all the golf classics I have taken part in.”

Renowned for its suburb golf, the K Club is recognised as one of Europe’s leading golfing destinations. The Packie Bonner Golf Classic will take place on The Smurfit Course.

SBHI works with people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus to improve the quality of their lives on a practical level. The incidence of Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus in Ireland is the second highest in the world. On average, 75 babies are being born each year with Spina Bifida and approximately 80% of those born have some degree of Hydrocephalus.
